In my Health Class my teacher said that it's NEVER ok to hit a woman...but there's got to be SOME point when it's acceptable...what so if she tied you down and beat you senseless...even after you got free you'd STILL refuse to hit her in retaliation as defense? that seems...stupid. Or if she's attacking someone you love it's not ok? if women can hit men with a slap when they get cheated on i think men deserve the right to slap a woman if she cheat...just not so hard that she falls to the ground that would be very unnecessary.

I think the only ok time to hit anyone is when they are hitting you. be the bigger person, never hit first.
Actualy hitting a woman is NEVER appropriate. I suppose you could restrain them if they were attacking someone, if shes completely mental I would let you off for a chokehold or something similar but actualy swinging and punching a woman never looks right...

On a more serious matter, if the woman has a gun to your head, I think its ok to do so... Self-defence is no crime, no matter what society has to say.
I'd hit a woman under extreme circumstances. If she's attacking me without provocation, and I'm at serious risk of sustaining injury, and retreat is not an option, then it's on. However, whereas my goal with fighting a male assailant would be to break his wrists or arms, I'd just try to disarm and pin the lady until someone could intervene.
